Wedding Present do Bizarro at O2; Trophy Cabinet first gig in twenty years

Don’t stop indie pop! The Wedding Present will be visiting Oxford’s O2 Academy this coming Saturday (11 December), as part of a tour that sees them performing their legendary Bizarro album in full. That means ‘Brassneck’, ‘Kennedy’ and loads more, so you can party like it’s 1989 all over again.

Supporting will be Trophy Cabinet, now Oxford-based but previously hailing from Birmingham, who’ll be playing their first gig in twenty years. In the late 1980s they were medium-hitters (if that’s a term) on the indie-pop scene, before fading away for a while. The band recently listened to some old rehearsal tapes and decided to kick things off again – so this peachy support slot will see them performing a combination of new and old tunes.

    met one of trophy cabinet at a recent smokers’ gig! he was a lovely dude and went to check out there site and found i could not stop listening to the song ‘king’ in spite of the fact the audiofile is broken up due to a loading problem…imagine how much i will love it when its fixed! :-)x
