New Oxford indie night raising money for rape crisis centre

Romance Is Boring is a brand new indie night kicking off at Oxford’s Baby Simple bar (on Cowley Road) in early March. Launched by two Oxfordian sisters, it promises ‘indie-pop, Motown, electro and all things twee’, which sounds nice to us, and it has a female-centric pricing structure. Males pay £4 to get in, females pay £3.40, in an effort to redress the gender pay gap a little bit.

The first night, which is hopefully to be a quarterly affair, takes place on Saturday 9 March, running from 9.00 pm to 2.00 am. Profits will be donated to the Oxford Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis Centre as well as Oxfam and musically there will be a focus on ‘the best female artists from Blondie to Britney, Dusty Springfield to Dresden Dolls and oh so much more…
