Don your dancing boots – or at least your hands-behind-the-back, swaying drunkenly boots. There’s a new club night starting in October. The intriguingly-named Progressively Less Elephant will be running on the third Friday of every month, at Baby Love Bar on King Edward Street, Oxford. It’s being started members of The Gullivers, We Aeronauts and Rocket Falls, who collectively felt there was a ‘lack of a credible indie night in Oxford, once the pubs close on a Friday’.
You can look forward to top-class indie-pop, electronica and Motown tuneage each month; the club opens on 22 October and will be followed up on 19 November, 17 December and beyond. Entry is just £4 and a variety of drinks promotions will be in effect to get you nice and tight in order to hit the dancefloor.
More information at the club’s Facebook page. The organisers have made a point of stating No ‘Mr Brightside’ – so here’s a nice picture of The Killers to get on their wick.
