“Fantastic folky intricacy and rectilinear motorik groove mashed together like Pentangle through the square window” – whatever that means, if you fancy a piece o’ it, and know your way around a drumkit, Samuel Zasada might be interested in you.
The band’s previous drummer Tom McKibbin has gone on his way to find musical adventures anew, with two more Oxford-based bands, Undersmile and Drei Riser. This leaves a drum-stool-shaped hole to fill, with (according to Samuel Zasada’s official spokesperson) the following conditions attached:
- Must be able to play drums. (Duh).
- Must have own kit.
- Must be able to drive and have own transport.
- Must not want to rock the eff out, but instead prefer a gentle, inventive folk dynamic.
- Must have the time to dedicate for rehearsing, writing, recording and playing live.
…and obviously…
- No time wasters!
Being able to sing and participate in vocals harmonies would be a plus point too, apparently. Pff – they don’t want much, do they?
To paraphrase Raymond Blanc, maybe they’ll want to make music – wiz YOU. If you fancy running the cut of your jib up their flagpole, contact Samuel Zasada through their MySpace page or by dropping guitarist/singer David Ashbourne a line at david.ashbourne *AT* googlemail *DOT* com. Good luck!
