Very much one of Oxford’s hardest working beat combos, Dive Dive seem to have been a little quiet over the past couple of years. Well, they’re about to change all that and get back to (busy) normality, as they’ve just announced a set of exciting developments which (we hope) will see them getting all up in yo’ faces on a regular basis from hereon.
They’ve signed a deal with Xtra Mile Recordings, also home to plenty plenty decent bands from now and from yesteryear, including Frank Turner, Dartz!, Reuben, My Vitriol and our own, our very own A Silent Film. The label will release the new Dive Dive album, Potential, early in 2011, and trail that event with a single called ‘Liar’, out on 13 December.
They’ll be heading out on tour with the aforementioned Frank Turner at the start of December, with a typically full-on schedule:
- 01/12/10: Aberdeen, Lemon Tree
- 02/12/10: Glasgow, ABC
- 03/12/10: Preston, 53 Degrees
- 04/12/10: Sheffield, The Plug
- 05/12/10: Oxford, The Regal
- 06/12/10: Cambridge, Corn Exchange
- 07/12/10: Southampton, Guildhall
- 08/12/10: Exeter, Lemon Grove
- 10/12/10: Leicester, Academy
- 11/12/10: Liverpool, Academy
- 12/12/10: London, Brixton Academy
That’s twelve days, eleven cities, with just one day off. Phew. Best get tickets soon, as they’re selling fast. Buy them here. Brixton Academy, by the way, is a pretty sweet show to end the tour. Good work, Dive Dive!
