The online arm of depth-free hipster journal Dazed & Confused have just published a short interview with Trophy Wife, and also include a rather nice video for their ‘Microlite’ song. See them both here. ‘Microlite’ will be released by Moshi Moshi Records on 8 November, as a limited-edition 7″ single and completely unlimited-edition download. That lines up Trophy Wife with a whole host of cool bands that have also released work through the label, including the likes of Hot Chip, Bloc Party, Au Revoir Simone and Dananananaykroyd. Oh, and New Rhodes, but we’ll gloss over that. Pre-order the release here.
Trophy Wife form part of the impossible calculated obscurity of Blessing Force, a self-proclaimed movement/cult/game of soldiers who manifest themselves through record releases, live promotions and art. (But what is art, right?) Along with Trophy Wife, you can keep up with the shadowy movements of Pet Moon, Chad Valley, Fixers, Jonquil and more by keeping your gaze fixed on this website. If you want to poke a toe into their metaphorical icy water, Pindrop Performances have teamed up with them to present the Blessing Force house band Pet Moon (featuring Youthmovies’ Andrew Mears), Trophy Wife and Braindead Collective at the Bullingdon Arms, Oxford, on 24 October. Tickets for that are available here.
