Sarah and Laima. Soon to be famous. Perhaps. With your help.

Laima and Sarah’s X-Factor style path to fame continues

We reported a little while ago that local musician-types Laima Bite and Sarah Wilson-Blackwell were taking part in the Open Mic UK competition, a national ‘talent search’ for singers and songwriters.

Well, news update!… Sarah has made it through to the national heats, inching one step closer to a show at London’s O2 and the shower of riches, endorsements and mahoosive record deals that will inevitably follow. Laima didn’t unfortunately make it through on the night, but has been shortlisted as a ‘wildcard’ entrant who will go through if she gets enough support.

How to show that support, you ask? Well, it’s a bit dubious, but we’re assured it’s not a scam; texting wildcard174 to the number 84222 will do the trick. It costs £1 to do this. You’ll get nothing in return except for the warm glow of involvement in Laima’s musical journey, and perhaps a slightly iffy-looking entry on your next phone bill. Find out more about the voting here – Laima is listed under the ‘Cardiff 25 and over’ section.
