WHOMP!

Monthly electronic music night starts in January 2011

Have you got your 2011 diary yet? If so, make a note on the page for 15 January – as that’s when a new, monthly electronic music night will start up in Oxford.

The Psychotechnic League will provide an arena for up-and-coming electronic music types who might not yet have found the means to perform live, alongside more established acts. Each monthly event should see three or four live acts, with guest DJs in between, and light shows and visuals bringing more spectacle to proceedings.

On 15 January the Wheatsheaf will host Sikorski, Space Heroes Of The People and We Are Ugly…, as well as the live debut of trance engineer Ashley B, for just £5. Future months’ events, yet to be announced, will be held at a variety of venues, depending on the artists involved. The Psychotechnic League is organised by Fred Toon, the man behind We Are Ugly… and Thin Green Candles.

Anybody interested in performing at a future Psychotechnic event, and anybody who might wish to offer VJing or lighting skills, can contact Fred by e-mail. Tell him we sent you!
