WOOD, the sapling sibling of the mighty oak that is the Truck festival, will see its fourth family-friendly year of ‘having fun and relaxing whilst listening to great music’ at Braziers Park, Oxfordshire, on 20-22 May.
Tickets for the event have just gone on sale, and are £95 per adult, £65 for 13-17 year olds and £0 for younger kids. Seventeen-year-olds or younger must be accompanied by an adult. It says here that it should be a responsible adult, but doesn’t specify the requirements to fulfil that category. Work it out for yourselves, I guess. It’s probably one of those things like being cool – if you have to ask what it is, you’re not it.
What’ll you get for your ticket wonga? Besides a huge and diverse selection of workshops and talks covering everything from African dance to building your own surfboard, there will be plenty music. Announced so far are headliners Willy Mason and Eliza Carthy, and former Candyskins member Nick Cope. Obviously, there are a lot more yet to be announced. To get you in the yoghurt-knitting mood that seems to be the way of WOOD, a quote from their promotional materials:
“WOOD provides opportunities for everyone to participate in workshops covering singing, woodcraft, yoga, knitting, story-telling, and thatching amongst many other subjects; there are campfire sing-alongs, the now famous fancy dress parade, and a fantastic kids tent. You can join in the lively lunchtime discussions in our organic café or simply enjoy a drink in our own pub, The Hippy Arms, selling locally-produced lager, ale and cider.”
Peace out! Find out more here, and buy your tickets here.
