Secret Rivals

Secret Rivals get signed; hang out with Tom Robinson

Warm handshakes and hearty congratulations to Secret Rivals, who have just signed to Kittiwake Records, home to our fair town’s own Alphabet Backwards amongst a brace of other artists. There will be a single from Secret Rivals out on Kittiwake in the near future, which will hopefully see the band ‘step up in the industry,’ ‘shift some units’ or whatever. It’s good to see yet another Oxford band getting the recognition they deserve.

More excitement for Secret Rivals follows in the form of Tom Robinson’s BBC 6 Music Fresh On The Net show. The Rivals will be paying the show a visit on 2 March to do some recording. If you’ve not come across it before, Fresh On The Net is a show for independent recording artists, backed up by an excellent website full of resources and ideas for said artists. Check it out, innit.

Even more Tom Robinson/Secret Rivals news… the Rivals got their first ever Radio1 airplay on Rob Da Bank’s show recently – and were his tune of the day! They’ll also be on Tom R’s Monday night show (28 March), as part of his 6music mixtape showcasing his best tracks of the year.
