Live And Unsigned is, it says here, ‘the largest national music competition for unsigned original musicians and bands’. 10,000 entries each year are whittled down through regional heats in order to decide upon the line-up for a megashow at the O2 in London, and a variety of prizes.
Good news from the Shire is that both Tamara Parsons-Baker and Very Nice Harry have made it to the regional final, an event that will be seen by thousands of spectators (aka future fans) and a judging panel including folks from Kerrang, NME Radio and Radio One. They got to this point through a series of live auditions, and if all goes well they’ll progress further towards the ultimate goal of winning the competition. The winner gets a management contract, a tour taking in four continents and a variety of choice shows in Europe and India.
The regional final takes place at the Corn Exchange in Bedford on 2 April. If you’re interested in heading Bedfordwards you can purchase tickets through the Live And Unsigned website. Remember to check out Very Nice Harry and Tamara Parsons-Baker, too, the latter of whom is offering two free tickets on her blog.
