There are a few new sides – as various hipster journos have taken to calling recordings recently – just hitting the streets, flung forth from the loving arms of the Big Scary Monsters Recording Company.

First up, †Hymns† (their daggers, not ours) have their first release, a two-track download comprising ‘A Punch To The Temple’ and ‘Invidia’, on sale for a tenner, for which you’ll also get a nifty-looking hardman t-shirt. Try before you buy? Why not – check out the tracks on the BSM Blog, where they are currently streaming.

Coming soon – on 4 April, to be specific – is a special release from Tall Ships. ‘Plate Tectonics’, taken from their second EP ‘There Is Nothing But Chemistry Here’, will be available as a digital-only single, along with some exclusive remixes. The first 25 folks that buy this through the band’s own web store will get a free, limited edition screen print.

Finally, Tangled Hair, who keep popping up on Twitter in the form of excitable fantweets. Their debut EP, ‘Apples’ will be released on 11 April and is currently available to pre-order. It’s to be released on CD and, as seems to be par for the course for BSM, will also be available with a limited edition t-shirt as a special bundle.
