The glorious art-deco environs of The Regal in Oxford are playing host to an increasingly interesting series of live music events recently. Over the past year or so a variety of big names have made their way there – not least Mogwai, CocoRosie and A Silver Mt. Zion – as well as local artists like Borderville who have been finding their way around the monster-sized venue.
On Thursday 31 March The Scholars will hit the stage with a special show to launch their new EP, ‘Arrival/Departure’. The five-track EP, including a remix of ‘Turbulence’ along with ‘Mind Games’, ‘Escape Plan’, ‘New York Smile’ and ‘Birth’, will be available in a limited edition physical form only at live shows – except for a couple of copies being sold through the Truck Store. Most bargainously, tickets for the gig are only £2 in advance, or £4 on the door, and the EP will be on sale to attendees for just £5.
What more do you want? Some excellent support acts, you say? Well, go on then – both Black Hats and Minor Coles will also be playing the show. So buy a ticket in advance and that’ll see you paying just £0.666666667 per band. Lovely.
