If a low-quality advertising executive was asked to produce a campaign for Nightshift magazine, they might consider something as formulaic as “Love music? Love Nightshift“. Or even “Nightshift: The Best A Man Can Get”. Or perhaps “Nightshift: Every Little Helps!”. Regardless, the new issue is out, and it’s available in shops and venues throughout Oxfordshire as well as in a downloadable form.
This month there’s an interview with Borderville, in advance of their new album Metamorphosis, lots of local music news, and reviews of new releases from The Workhouse, Trophy Wife, Laima, Agness Pike, dB Band and Duotone. There are live reviews including Supernormal Festival and Stornoway’s recent set at The Regal in Oxford, and a comprehensive round-ups of gigs for the month. There’s an introduction to Agness Pike, a retrospective of The Nubiles, and this issue’s Demos section has Tom Ashton as the demo of the month and The Ed Milliband in the Demo Dumper.
