The recently-opened Oxfork café on Oxford’s Magdalen Road is picking up rave reviews from all over, with a variety of eat-in and deli options that tick the required comfort food/quality boxes. The folks behind Oxfork (Oxforkfolks?) are now branching out into live music promotion in collaboration with some other music types, and have announced a series of gigs in December as well as a one-off show in November.
On 5 November the Old Boot Factory, on St Marys Road in Oxford, plays host to Trophy Wife and Wild Swim, in a joint promotion with YOOF. As well as tickets for the gig itself (which are £7), you can also pick up £12 tickets which will get you into the gig as well as nabbing you a meal of Oxfork food to stoke your fires for the occasion.
In December, there are three gigs co-promoted by Oxfork and Beard Museum, which all take place at the idiosyncratic Rotunda on Iffley Turn in Oxford. To extend the food theme, the line-up for these is pretty tasty… there’s The Young Knives on 7 December, Richard Walters on 8 December and Gaz Coombes on 9 December. Tickets for these shows are £12, £10 and £15 respectively – or there’s a special three-show pass available for £33. Alternatively, you can buy individual tickets for the events for £32, and these include not only a meal at Oxfork before the music, but a rickshaw ride from Oxfork to the Rotunda!
Tickets for all of the Oxfork events are available at WeGotTickets.
