Gappy Tooth Industries, ‘Oxford’s most adventurous live music promoters since 2002′, have been running the Winter Warmer festival for a long time, and have just announced the details of this year’s event, their seventh annual celebration of local music (along with a few talented outsiders), which they’re running with fellow promoters Swiss Concrete.

We asked Gappy Tooth main man Richard why he runs Winter Warmer, and what can be expected:
“This is the seventh (very nearly) annual GTI Winter Warmer festival. The first two were at The Exeter Hall [now an Indian restaurant] and we ran them with our hairy freak brethren Klub Kakofanney, but since then we’ve been sharing the producer’s reins with Swiss Concrete.
“In short, the Winter Warmer is a chance to get away from the glittery, aggressive period of office parties and hardcore christmas High Street trade, with a selection of high quality, but of course occasionally somewhat unexpected, acts for a low price. People should come because it’s a chance to check out some of the best music in Oxfordshire (and beyond) as the year draws to a close, and because it’s unpretentious fun where Sally from Accounts won’t try to force you to wear a Santa beard. We do it to celebrate somehow not going bankrupt for another 12 months.
“Last year’s Winter Warmer was mostly cancelled because of extreme snow, so everyone should come along this year to make us feel better!”
There you have it – do as he says, and go along. More information at Winter Warmer festival, Gappy Tooth Industries and Swiss Concrete.
