No, no, not the small striped squirrel kind of chipmunk, we’re talking about the double MOBO-award winning Chipmunk, who won best UK newcomer and best hip-hop act in the 2008 awards. That was then, and this is now, and since 2009’s I Am Chipmunk he’s also released Transition this year, has a new album lined up for 2012, and he’s topped the UK R&B albums chart along the way.
Chipmunk plays The Regal in Oxford on 16 December, with doors opening at 7.00 pm. He’ll be supported by a range of young Oxford ‘urban’ talent: Chelsea Sianga, Half Decent, REE Formed, Misunderstood and MVE. ‘Urban’ is a daft genre name, but you get the idea…
There are a variety of ticket prices – £10 for NUS members, £12 advance tickets, £20 for a VIP special (which apparently lets you jump the queue and sit in a booth, like a bad-ass), and £20 for a seat. Yes, a seat. So you can sit in a seat and watch exciting music whilst trying not to move. Tickets are available here.
