Nightshift - January 2012 cover. Is that Handsome Dave Travolta?

Nightshift – January 2012 issue out now, with tips for the year and more

With the iron-clad reliability of a friend you can rely on, here’s the new issue of Nightshift. Some of you out there may have been lazing about, consuming turkey and booze for the past week or so, but Nightshift never sleeps. Or perhaps Nightshift does sleep, but also publishes at the same time. Perhaps whilst consuming turkey and booze. We just don’t know. Regardless, it’s available in shops and venues throughout Oxfordshire as well as in a downloadable form.

This month there are tips for Oxford music in 2012 from a host of local music types – including MusicInOxford.co.uk, lots of news from the local music scene, and reviews of new releases including the City Of Screaming Spires compilation and recordings from Tiger Mendoza, Secret Rivals, Great Medical Disaster and Count Skylarkin’ & Harvey K-Tel. There are loads of live reviews including the recent shows at the Rotunda in Oxford, and a comprehensive round-ups of gigs for the month. There’s an introduction to Tiger Mendoza, a look back at what was going on in Oxford music five, ten and twenty years ago, and this issue’s Demos section has Asher Dust as the demo of the month and Sky By Bull in the Demo Dumper.
