Post-rock instrumentalist chuggah-chuggah merchants Listing Ships are looking for a video to go with their track ‘Skipper’s Daughter’. They’ve decided to turn their search into a competition, and as such they’re inviting anybody to submit a film to accompany the track, produced in any format whatsoever. All of the submissions – regardless of production values or techniques (ie anything from a mobile phone video recording to a 3D iMax four-hour long epic) – will be thrown into a hat, from which one winner will be selected.
The winner will not only get their video made all official, including full credit wherever it happens to be played on the internet, they’ll also get a copy of the recent, limited edition ‘The 100 Gun Ship’ EP as well as fifty crisp pound notes. (Or, possibly, one single grubby fifty pound note – that detail is to be confirmed). (Also, pound notes aren’t legal tender any more, so that would be a scam).
If your creative antennae have been tweaked, you can hear the track on the Listing Ships website – it’s track five on ‘The 100 Gun Ship’. Contact the band via email if you need a digital copy of the track, and submit your videos via that very same email address. The competition is open until 15 February, and the winner will be announced on 18 February.
