The organisers of Folk Weekend Oxford, which is being set up to fill the gap left by the cancellation of Oxford Folk Festival last year, have announced that tickets for the weekend-long event are now on sale.
From 20 to 22 April 2012 the Folk Weekend will host a variety of musical performances, centred around the Old Fire Station on Oxford’s George Street. The programme is still being put together, but so far some highlights include a ceilidh with the band BeetRoot on the Friday evening, Crucible Trio / Telling The Bees / Angles / Triptych on Saturday, and Mawkin / Gavin Davenport / Angles on Sunday.
Tickets are available for a variety of prices: £46 for all Folk Weekend events, £9 for Friday night, £26 for all of Saturday and £21 for all of Sunday. There are also cheaper prices for kids and concessions. Buy tickets from the Folk Weekend website and look out for new artists and events being added to the bill for the weekend over the next couple of months.
