Beethoven (and more) for orangutans: Valentine’s day event!

There’s a special one-off event taking place on 14 February at Jacqueline du Pré Music Building in Oxford. Katie Stillman (violin) and Simon Lane (piano), who have previously performed all over the place including Wigmore Hall and the Purcell Room with their “sensitive and passionate musicianship matched by an excellent technique”, according to concerto soloist Philip Dukes, will be presenting a relaxed evening of music including pieces by composers including Beethoven, Massenet, Elgar, Gershwin and Respighi.

All proceeds from the evening go to SOS, the Sumatran Orangutan Society, who are trying to stop Sumatran orangutans from becoming extinct. And it’s on Valentine’s day. Take a loved one, listen to some nice music played by talented musicians, and help out orangutans. Tickets are £5 for students, £15 for stalls and £20 for balcony. Doors open at 7.30 pm, and music begins at 8.00 pm.
