Gunning For Tamar release their new EP, ‘Time Trophies’, on 19 March. The five track release – “tumultuously epic anthemic pop rock”, apparently – is coming out on the Alcopop! Records label, and being issued in the form of bright yellow wristwatch, accompanied by a QR download code to use to get the tracks. The watches are limited to 300 pieces, and cost only £7 apiece. If that’s all too modern and wacky for you, an extra £1 will get you not only the wristwatch but also a CD containing the tracks in a plain plastic wallet. All of this business is available from the Alcopop! Records shop.
The release gets its official launch show at The Cellar in Oxford, on 24 March, where Gunning For Tamar will be supported by Jumping Ships and Deer Chicago, after acoustic sets from Phil McMinn and Alcopop! head honcho Jack PoP. A video for the lead track from ‘Time Trophies’ was also recently completed in collaboration with BBC geezers Sam King and Tim Bearder:
Finally, Gunning For Tamar were just confirmed as being on the bill for this year’s Truck festival. They’ll be playing the back-in-action-for-this-year Barn Stage on the event’s Saturday, as part of an Alcopop! Records/Big Scary Monsters Records-curated set of acts.
