New compilation on the way from Audioscope, raising money for Shelter

The organisers of the Audioscope festival, an annual shindig that raises money for Shelter and has presented acts like Four Tet, Clinic, Karma To Burn and Wire in Oxford since 2001, are putting together a new download-only compilation for release later this year.

Music For A Good Home II will consist of exclusive and unreleased tracks from a wide variety of artists, including many of those who have performed at Audioscope events over the past decade. All of the artists are donating their tracks for free. The compilation will be available online only through Bandcamp, and all proceeds from sales will be donated to Shelter, the national charity that aims to eradicate homelessness and bad housing in this country.

A previous compilation, Music For A Good Home, was released a few years ago, and is now being offered at a reduced price of £4 in both digital and CD formats. The collection includes exclusive tracks from Four Tet, Michael Rother, Damo Suzuki, Maps, Blood Red Shoes and many more, and is available through the Audioscope Bandcamp page. Copies of this compilation will only be available until 19 May, at which point it will be deleted before Music For A Good Home II comes along.

A special, one-off Audioscope show is also being organised for 19 May. This will take place at The Old Boot Factory in Oxford, after Audioscope was invited to mark the end of a week-long art exhibition at the venue with an intimate, ‘quiet’ gig of acoustic music. Line-up details for this event will be announced soon.
