Oxford Contemporary Music have just announced details of their Spring season – as expected, it’s a rich and varied selection of events in Oxford that will challenge, entertain and expand the musical horizons of attendees. The names of artists they present may not be familiar, but OCM can be trusted to share music that’s guaranteed to be interesting and unique.
- DoubleDuo featuring Allami-AlKhatib-Hbeisch-Piccioni: Friday 20 April, The North Wall. Oud versus percussion, with musicians from Iraq, Palestine and Italy.
- Janek Schaefer’s Local Radio Orchestra: Saturday 5 May, Modern Art Oxford (The Yard). Janek Schaefer’s latest sonic creation is an orchestra of radios!
- Phoenix & Phaedra holding patterns: Saturday 5 May, Modern Art Oxford (The Basement). This live composition plays with our sense of place and scale by using surround sound, a short range FM transmitter and hand held radios located within the audience.
- Arve Henriksen & Trio Mediaeval: Friday 18 May, Holywell Music Room. Ethereal sounds from unique Norwegian musicians.
