Grendon Underwood is a little place near Bicester that is, in cold, hard terms, just inside Buckinghamshire, but just near enough to Oxfordshire to make it within this website’s catchment area. Grendon Festival is a music and comedy festival that will take place on 15-16 June at Grendon Underwood.
Friday night at Grendon includes a comedy night with ten comedians, and on Saturday there will be music split across two stages, including a variety of cover/tribute acts with tricksy names like Noasis, The Killerz and Kings Of Lyon, and original bands including Disclosure (from Witney), Million Faces (from Oxford) and In My Defence (from Bicester). In total, there are 27 bands lined up to play.
There will also be CAMRA-backed refreshments on offer (sixty ales, ciders and ginger beers) and ‘stuff for the kids’ like bouncy castles, magicians and circus acts. Tickets for Grendon start at £15 per adult, or £10 for 10-17 year olds. Under tens get in free, if they’re with an adult. (If they’re not with an adult, they shouldn’t be out on their own…) All of the proceeds from Grendon will be donated to Florence Nightingale Cancer Hospice.
There’s a lot more information at the Grendon Festival website, and you can read more about the charity here.
