St Barnabas Church

Special Spring Offensive show in a church, 14 June

Before Spring Offensive become too huge to countenance such things, there’s an opportunity to catch them in an intimate, special setting a bit later this month. They’ve teamed up with Oxford foodies Oxfork and set up a gig on 14 June at St Barnabas Church in Oxford’s arty quarter, Jericho. (Although all of Oxford is pretty arty, isn’t it?)

As well as Spring Offensive, who are headlining the event, your ticket cost of either £6 advance or £7 on the door will also grant you access to performances by Count Drachma – featuring Ollie and Rob from Stornoway, who claim influences from African musican and sing in Zulu (no joke) – and Liverpool’s ‘dark folk’ three-piece All We Are.

Want a bit more? Go on, then. Everybody that buys a ticket in advance (they’re available here) will also receive a six-track acoustic EP, featuring recordings from Spring Offensive’s series of house party gigs in April. The exclusive EP will be available as a free download, which will become unavailable for ever after the 14 June gig.

Oxfork will be doing their thing in the form of a virgin bar (this is a church, after all), offering non-alcoholic cocktails as well as some delicious snacks. Sounds nice, doesn’t it? Very refined and classy. If you’re heading along, doors are at 7.00 pm and the first band will be on at 7.45 pm.
