Truck in-stores lined up for June and July

Heads up! The good folk at Truck Store in Oxford love a good in-store, and they’ve got a few lined up over the remainder of June as well as July. What’s not to like with free live music in a record shop?

On Saturday 23 June at 1.00 pm, you can see Newcastle’s Lanterns On The Lake, who do this kind of thing:

On Thursday 28 June from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm, avail yourself of sets from Danica Hunter, Camena, Samantha Jayne and Amir Sharma. (And ‘more to be confirmed’, it says here).

On Saturday 30 June there’s King Of Cats, who’ll be launching his new EP with this performance, and who’ll be supported by Beta Blocker & The Body Clock. It doesn’t say what time that takes place: we’ll presume 5.00 pm, but if you’re passing by Truck Store around the time they’ll doubtless have a big sign up in the window! Here’s the King Of Cats session recorded specially for MusicInOxford.co.uk in 2010:

On the weekend of 7-8 July the store hosts a weekend-long Truck Festival warmup party. Full details to be announced on this, but expect a good turnout of acts playing the festival, throughout the day, and (hopefully, if it’s like previous similar events) beer being served in the shop.

Finally, the Truckfolk tell us to tell you to ‘keep Saturday 28 July open’, as apparently something exciting will be happening that they can’t confirm just yet. Let’s start a rumour right here: Radiohead in-store…?

Keep on Truck-in’.
