Oxford’s Phoenix Picturehouse cinema are taking part in the national premiere of Shut Up And Play The Hits, a feature-length film documenting the final performance of LCD Soundsystem that took place on 2 April 2011 in New York. The film follows frontman James Murphy through the lead-up to the megashow at Madison Square Gardens, the show itself, and the day after, revealing why he made decision to end the band and what doing so means for him both personally and professionally.
The Oxford showing, at 9.00 pm on 4 September, is one of several concurrent events across the country that all contribute to the UK & Ireland premiere of Shut Up And Play The Hits. James Murphy will be taking part in a Q&A session after the showing, which will be based in London and beamed satellite-style to the Phoenix Picturehouse.
More information and tickets are available at the Phoenix Picturehouse website.
