White Rabbit is a performance art piece being staged at Oxford’s Old Fire Station on Friday 21 September. Created by the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland-trained artist Roxy Claxton, who also fronts the art music outfit Salon Society, White Rabbit promises a combination of gig, theatre performance, art exhibit and photography exhibition.

Claxton explains: “Armed with a perfect storm of tools, samples, techniques and genres defining each stage, White Rabbit presents a spectacle of excitement and self-discovery. The show portrays the live process of defeating fear and what it is to create music in 2012″. She continues: “The process of collaboration with individuals from various artistic genres has been incredibly rewarding, the process for the show has allowed an honest exploration of these forms to become a metaphor for the many roles we each hold in our lives. I’m overjoyed by the investment and support each artist has given to this work”.

White Rabbit is the result of collaboration with DJ/producer Death of Hi-Fi, dance artist Paulette Mae, producer Christian Johnstone, and is supported by local musicians Samma Charles (Annero), Zahra Tehrani (BG Records), Nick Wright, and exhibiting photographers Andrew Gleave and Thalia Papadopoulou. Music used during the show will form the basis of a concept album lined up for release in 2013.
