Nightshift - November 2012 cover

Nightshift – November 2012 issue out now, with Listing Ships interview and more

Wrap up warm for a busy musical November and make sure you’ve got a copy of the new Nightshift to hand – as it’s now out. It’s chock-a-block with excellent reading matter, and no sensible Oxfordshire muso would be seen dead without it. It’s available both online and at venues, shops and pubs throughout Oxfordshire.

This month’s cover feature is an interview with instrumental nautical obsessives Listing Ships. There’s also lots of news from the local music scene, as well as reviews of new releases from Chad Valley, The Mechanisms, The Scholars, Wild Swim and Family Machine. Going-out opportunities all over the shop with the comprehensive gig guide, and read about what you did last month with live reviews covering Gathering festival, The Goggenheim and loads more. There’s an introduction to Vienna Ditto, a look back at what was going on in Oxford music five, ten and twenty years ago, and the usual two-page Demo reviews section. Demo of the month is from Camena, in the Demo Dumper is Torn Like Colours.

“Torn like a new arsehole” – I like that a lot. Won’t be able to look at their name in the gig guide the same way again.
