A fourteen track retrospective compilation of work by Asher Dust is due for release on the artist’s own Dus Musik imprint on 3 December. The collection, Master Of None, comprises new and old tracks as well as demos, and will be available on CD in DVD-sized packaging.
It’ll also be available via download through Asher Dust’s Bandcamp page and as a mobile phone app. The tracks on the compilation include production work by Farjedi, Tiger Mendoza, Meef Chaloin, Offkey Productions, Zahra Tehrani, Umair Chaudhry and Asher Dust himself.
If that ain’t enough for you (and it shouldn’t be, as Asher Dust rarely produces work that falls below the ‘excellent’ level, there’s a further compilation CD due for release just before Christmas, again on the Dus Musik imprint – this one, called Son Of Sir Jones Hifi, will focus on the dubbier end of the prolific musician’s work, as well as including some of his collaborations. There’s also a new EP from Asher Dust due out through BG Records in January 2013.
Asher Dust has been at the core of Oxford’s hip-hop/dub/electro/urban/whatever-you-want-to-call-it scene for many years, and endlessly and energetically dedicated himself not only to his own music but also to many collaborations. Here are a few videos from various cuts so far:
