Audio Producer/Editor vacancy at Oxford’s Isis Publishing

Anybody out there with an interest in the recording and production side of things? This might be of interest. Isis Publishing – a leading Oxford-based producer of unabridged audiobooks – is looking to recruit an Audio Producer/Editor for a full-time role, starting in February.

Here’s what they have to say about it:

“The role involves recording and editing a wide range of audiobooks (mainly popular/commercial fiction) and so would suit someone who first and foremost loves reading – it’s great fun, involves working with a wide range of actors and books, and is really rewarding. It would ideally suit someone with outside interests, as the role is quite process-driven, and while we work within Pro Tools, there isn’t much technical input involved. We are a small team, and so it’s vital you can get on with people in a small, deadline-driven environment.”

Isis are based in Osney Mead in Oxford. Interested in the job? Mosey on over to the Isis Publishing website, where they have more details and the necessary contacts if you’d like to apply.

If you’re going for it, good luck and tell them we sent you!

The salary for that job is pretty shockingly low. Are you expected to be able to live on that? I guess it is acceptable for someone who’s just left education, but if you have a family to support you can forget it. It can’t be much higher than minimum wage, and is less than you’d get for working on the tills at Aldi!
