From 25 January there will be a new, weekly club night at Oxford’s O2 Academy. The enigmatically-named Switch – it’s not going in unnecessary capitals here no matter how many times it’s been done in a press release – promises, with no unnecessary hyperbole whatsoever, to be “all about introducing the best electronic music to Oxford, be it house, drum and bass, electro or future garage, basically anything with a big bassline! Every Friday the coolest artists from around the world will be checking in!”
Tickets for each club night are priced between £5 and £9, and the partynanigans each time will run from 10.30 pm to a bright’n’breezy 4.00 am. What a way to start your Saturday.
There’s more information about the nights in the calendar on this here website, or you can toodle over to the O2 Academy Oxford website to have a poke around there.
They’ve already lined up DJ slots and live performances leading through to early March, and these are they:
- Friday 25 January: Shy FX / Stamina MC
- Friday 1 February: Kidnap Kid / Gorgon City (Black Butter Records showcase)
- Friday 8 February: Mosca
