Oxford’s tuneful noiseniks Gunning For Tamar continue their gradual ascent to world domination with the news of a new EP and Europe-wide tour in March and April. The EP, Camera Lucida, is getting a dual release with Alcopop! doing the honours in the UK and Hip! Hip! Hip! spreading the good word throughout France, Belgium and Switzerland. A proper old Euro-friendly release, and no mistake. It’ll be released in the UK on 1 April. No foolin’.
A UK tour will take in the following venues and dates:
- 16/03/13: O2 Academy, Oxford
- 18/03/13: The Castle, Manchester
- 19/03/13: Scy, Lincoln
- 20/03/13: Nation Of Shopkeepers, Leeds
- 21/03/13: Stereo, York

Phew-wee. They’re gonna be knackered after all that. However! There’ll be no rest for the well wicked as right after those dates, they’re heading off to Tamarify Europe, with gigs lined up in France, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Romania, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland!
Naturally, we would never advise leaving Oxford, so your best bet is to check out the 16 March gig at O2 Academy Oxford. Tickets for that are £5 from WeGotTickets, or £8 will get you a ticket and a sneaky pre-release copy of the Camera Lucida on the night. Support at the Oxford gig will be Salvation Bill, Phil McMinn and the strangely-named Wot Gorilla?.
To end with a spot of music, here’s ‘Dark Sky Tourism’, released last year:
