Wilderness festival is more of a lifestyle thing than a music thing – it takes in fine dining, theatre, arts and independent shopping and crafts just as much as it does live bands and musicians. However, this is MusicInOxford.co.uk, so let’s concentrate on music first, and share details of the first set of acts that have been confirmed for this year’s Wilderness, which takes place from 8 to 11 August.
The event will include live music from:
- Empire Of The Sun
- Noah And The Whale
- Rodriguez (yep, the guy from Searching For Sugarman)
- Michael Kiwanuka
- Tom Odell
- Ghostpoet
- Tribes
- Matt Corby
- Lucy Rose
- King Krule
- Melody’s Echo Chamber
- Eliza And The Bear
- The London Folk Guild
- Yellow Lounge
There’s more to come, and besides the above, the festival organisers promise banquets, feasts, gastronomy, theatre, debating, arts, ‘well-being and outdoor pursuits’ and ‘magic, games and japery’. Last year’s Wilderness included, amongst other things, a large-scale skinny-dipping spectacle, so who knows what this year’s will bring…
Wilderness takes place at Cornbury Park (near Charlbury), and tickets are now on sale through the festival website for a variety of prices depending on age, day/weekend tickets, parking and so on.
