Nightshift June 2013 cover

Nightshift – June 2013 issue out now, with Headcount interview and more

Seems like it’s around the right time of the month for a new Nightshift – and lo, looming over the horizon like a gigantic behemoth of Oxford music, here ’tis! It’s a bumper issue this time, so stick the kettle on, make a cuppa and have a read.

This month’s cover feature is an interview with noisy rock heavy-hitters Headcount, and there are competitions to win tickets for both Wilderness Festival and Cornbury Festival. There’s all kinds of news from the local music scene, and reviews of new releases from Half Decent, The Epstein, Lee Christian, Spring Offensive, Candy Says, Huck & The Xander Band and LAC. There are loads of live music events listed in the comprehensive gig guide, and you can read about what’s already happened with live reviews including the Nightshift Punt, Oxford Folk Weekend and lots more. There’s an introduction to LAC, a look back at what was going on in Oxford music five, ten and twenty years ago, and the usual two-page Demo reviews section. Demo of the month is from Cabaret Rat, in the Demo Dumper is Gem Lettuce.
