Joshua Gilbert’s self-penned bio spiel is a good read:
“I’m twenty three. I work, I drink, I go out, then in the morning I curse the pounding in my skull and the clubrats that infest my bed. When I’m finished cursing, I write songs and sing them. There are about 40 songs that I have finished, with many more in the pipeline. I am currently recording the lot, and then I’m going to search for some kind of publishing for the body of work I’ve written. I don’t really care who sings the songs, I just hope people hear them and can relate to what I’ve been saying.”
His new single, ‘Around Here’, backed with ‘JG’s Dream’, is now streaming through SoundCloud:
It’ll also be available to purchase and keep forever from around 22 June, through iTunes, and as a CD that’ll be sold at gigs and through Gilbert’s website. And lo, as if by magic, a gig appeared to coincide: Gilbert plays O2 Academy 2 on 22 June, along with ahab, Empty White Circles, Co-pilgrim and The August List, at the latest ‘Upstairs’ showcase. More about that here.
