Twelve Top Tasters of Truck 2013

It’s Truck 2013 in under a month’s time. The two-day ‘eccentric village fête’ – aka huge amounts of live music in a dainty countryside setting filled with barns, hay and strange people – takes place in Steventon, Oxfordshire on 19 and 20 July.

Here are Twelve Top Tasters, in video form, of some of the acts playing across the stages at this year’s festival. To check out the full line-up, find out more and buy tickets, get your perfectly-formed butt over to the Truck festival website.

1. Spiritualized

Headlining the Truck Stage on Friday night. Here’s hoping they focus on the psychedelic freak-out elements of their formidable back catalogue – and perhaps delve into some Spacemen 3 work whilst they’re at it.

2. The Horrors

Headlining the Truck Stage on Saturday night. The post-gothic-nincompoops will apparently also be manning the bar after their set that night, mixing cocktails for the no doubt heavily ‘relaxed’ punters…

3. Wild Swim

Playing the Market Stage on Friday. Oxford’s artsy, atmospheric tunesmiths Wild Swim are described as ‘sick’ in YouTube comments, but this is apparently a good thing.

4. Lewis Watson

Playing the Market Stage on Saturday. The increasingly popular Oxfordian may well be playing much larger gigs than this soon, so grab the chance to catch him here whilst you can.

5. Wet Nuns

Playing the Barn Stage on Friday. This messed-up warped blues outfit promise to be one of the sneaking highlights of this year’s festival.

6. Gunning For Tamar

Playing the Barn Stage on Saturday. Oxford’s Gunning For Tamar get better and better and better. Must see! Must see!

7. Von Braun

Playing the Veterans & Virgins Stage on Friday. On the same stage on the same day you can see Beta Blocker And The Body Clock, Grudle Bay, King Of Cats, Duchess and many more. It’s a proper Oxford music showcase.

8. Co-pilgrim

Playing the Veterans & Virgins Stage on Saturday. A stylish and upbeat angle on the Americana/folk music that’s threaded into many aspects of Truck festival.

9. The Original Rabbit Foot Spasm Band

Headlining The Saloon on Friday. This band are almost scientifically engineered to bring the party atmosphere and end a good day. Punk-R’n’B-skiffle? Why not indeed.

10. The Epstein

Headlining The Saloon on Saturday. Carefully-crafted, heartfelt songs: if it’s a bit chilly by this time in the evening, they’ll warm your heart, at least.

11. The Fridge And Bungle Experience

Playing a set at the Kingdom Of Jamalot on Friday, as are SRS, Simple, The Gees and many more. All kinds of loopy dance vibes are expected.

12. ShaoDow

Playing the Kingdom Of Jamalot on Saturday. Fizzing, high-octane, high quality Oxfordian hip-hop from a seasoned performer that knows how to work a crowd.
