Candy Says, who are recently referring to themselves as a ‘four-piece lo-fi chic pop band’, which is rather nice, continue to do things their own way. Their new single ‘Kiss Kill’, which will be released in physical form on 30 September – in every hipster-of-choice’s favourite format, the cassette tape – is winging its way around the digisphere before that date as a video.
Not just any old video, either. The whole thing was apparently put together on a ZX Spectrum computer, which is hard to believe, based on the average graphical output of that loveable old bit of kit. It’s not confirmed whether it was a 16k, 48k or 128k model; who knows. Anyway, next time they should pull out the big guns and get a ZX80-made video done. That would be a blocky, monochrome site to behold.
