Matt Carter is a singer/songwriter based in Oxfordshire, and Daylight is his debut release. Recorded at SAE Studios in Oxford, the three-track collection is available to stream online for free – see below!
Carter is also a member of the (Oxfordshire) band Maps, and cites influences including James Taylor – the glum 1970s singer/songwriter, we presume, and not the funked-up Acid Jazz type – and Nick Drake. These are certainly warm and delicate songs that share a sense of subtle instrumentation and sparse arrangements with those artists.
