Oxford’s Summertown branch of Oxfam is currently running a music-based promotion, which started yesterday (27 August). As happens a few times each year, they’re stocking a variety of instruments – from violins to woodwinds to more unique items – with prices ranging from around £50 and up.
There’s a couple of special items on offer if you’ve got the wedge to put towards a good cause:
Firstly, a US-made Guild F-512 rosewood jumbo antique burst 12-string acoustic guitar; a very high-end traditional dreadnought-shaped acoustic guitar featuring a solid sitka spruce top; solid rosewood back and sides, and mother of pearl and abalone inlay on the neck. It comes with an ETKL simulated crocodile skin hard case with a dark green padded interior. “All In Excellent Condition”, it says here. It’s on sale for £1200.
Secondly, there’s a US-made C.F. Martin acoustic guitar; constructed with high-gloss, dark mahogany sides, spruce top and hardwood neck. It also comes with an ETKL simulated skin hard case, this time with a dark red padded interior! Again, excellent condition; the price on this one is £2,200.
They’ve also got all kinds of sheet music on offer on their first floor. Pop in and have a look, why not? Maybe you’ll bag a new instrument and do a little bit of good at the same time. Summertown’s Oxfam is at 223 Banbury Road, Summertown, Oxford OX2 7HQ.
