Here’s a timely slice of bittersweet Christmas angst from singer-songwriter Paul Brennan. His latest song, ‘Just A Day’ speculates unsubtly on the modern Yuletide obsession (in some corners, at least) with buying and consuming, at the expense of, y’know, spending time with those you love.

It’s a heartfelt piece of work for sure, backed up with an angry-Santa-guy-themed video. As Brennan says, “we should be focussing on just spending time with each other, even if it is for ‘just a day’.” It even scooped the ‘demo of the month’ accolade in December’s edition of Nightshift.
