Promoters Tertium Quid have a knack for an interesting line-up. so check out their gig on Friday 28 February at Port Mahon in Oxford. The Diamond Family Archive, aka ‘psych-folk/freak-folk/alt-folk’ chap Laurence Collyer, will be supported by The August List and Julia Meijer.
Grab a chance to see up-and-coming psychedelic indie types Temples at O2 Academy 2, Oxford, on Monday 3 March. Their new album Sun Structures seems to be tweaking the synapses of those in the know with its references back to the whacked-out late 1960s.
‘Out there’ in a very different way is Helved Rüm, an improvisatory/electroacoustic duo who will perform at Oxford’s Old Fire Station on Tuesday 4 March. Live drums are processed in real time to create music that “goes from very organic and animalistic feelings to a massive and industrial energy”. Wild!
Classic 2-Tone from The Selecter at O2 Academy 2, Oxford on Sunday 9 March. They’ll be performing their 1980 classic album Too Much Pressure in its entirety, and round things off with a selection of tracks from their 35-year history.
Full details of these and loads more gigs can be found in the events calendar.
