Now in its eighth year, Oxjam returns this October. It’s a month of gigs, all in aid of Oxfam, with local acts taking part in events organised by local people. In previous years, lots of Oxford action has taken place as part of Oxjam, and they hope to continue along similar lines this year.
The charity are looking for volunteers to organise events in their town: whatever genres you like, whatever size of gig you like. As Oxjam put it: “it’s your festival”. Oxfam offer support and help if you’re interested, and can tell you everything you need to know to help you organise a gig, including tips from music industry experts and free training.
Up for it? Enrich Oxford’s music scene and raise some money for a good cause? For more information and to sign up, check out www.oxfam.org.uk/oxjam.
