The Scholars at the pictures

Local ‘modern romantics’ (their quote – not ours!) have just finished filming their parts for a forthcoming independent feature film. Turbulence, a ‘musical romantic comedy’ directed by Michael B. Clifford and Natasha Carlish – BAFTA winners both, don’t you know – features Scholars frontman Adrian Banks in a major role, and also has the band and their music as large elements of the storyline.

Now that filming has ‘wrapped’, as I believe they might say in the biz, it’s moved onto the post-production phase, where presumably a ton of CGI and mindbending special FX are to be applied. A release date is yet to be confirmed, but it’s looking likely that it’ll be early next year. We’ll let you know.

In the meantime, the film has a website here, and if you’re so inclined you can follow it on Twitter or Facebook. Why not also look at The Scholars on MySpace, where you may well be able to find out about the free download they’re planning on releasing, along with a new EP that they’re off to record later in the year.

I think it was Johnny Moto who coined ‘modern romantics’ after a Jericho gig many moons ago – Don’t quote me on that though!
