Git’ yourselves down to the Oxford Castle Market Square from 7.00 pm until 10.00 pm on Wednesday 25 August, and you can avail yourselves of some lovely acoustic music from a set of Oxfordshire artists. (That’s music played on lovely acoustic instruments, you understand – no guarantee of lovely music being played. Ha.)
Getting themselves behind the cause (Oxjam raises money for Oxfam, who – like you didn’t know – fight poverty and suffering worldwide) are The Half Rabbits, Phantom Theory, Prohibition Smokers Club, Tiger Mendoza, Swindlestock and Kt&Ky. That right there is an interesting and eclectic mix. As well as the music there’ll be a raffle (who doesn’t love a raffle?) and what are cryptically referred to by Oxjam as ‘special promotions’. It’s almost worth going down there just to find out what a ‘special promotion’ is.
It’s all free, but you’re obviously encouraged to donate. That’s how it works, see – you hear good music, have a fun evening, and contribute to a good cause. A win-win, as they say. Read more about it on Oxfam’s website.
