Cash, feeling a deep connection with Johnny Cash’s music and lyrics, are now dedicated to ensuring as many people as possible are in the know about the band and the great music that inspired them, touring extensively and playing shows big and small. Frontman Ben Welburn realised it wasn’t just Cash’s musicality that they had in common, but the way Johnny Cash stood up prolifically for the working class, and wasn’t some clean cut musical ideal that first brought the tribute into a reality.

Speaking on the decision to begin the tribute, Ben Welburn remembers ‘I would pay my respects to the man by getting his stuff out there again; reaching out to established and new fans, but in no way would I try to be him. That is just not doable in my eyes’. He is now commended for effortlessly recreating the sound, vibe and appeal of the master himself.
