Exquisite Corpse @ Old Fire Station, Oxford

Tuesday 3 September 2013, 7:30 pm - 11:00 pm

£7 / £5 (concessions)

Exquisite Corpse imageMinimal drones and fragments, barely audible to deafeningly loud, listen-in to the innate physical qualities of sound as Exquisite Corpse weave a sonic presence exploring and encountering the raw tactile colouristic aspect of sound as physical brute fact through improvisation and open scores.

Exquisite corpse are David Arrowsmith and Paul Newland – prepared electric guitars, acoustic objects and other devices.

Cadavre Exquis – Exquisite Corpse – a party game invented and played by Andre Breton and fellow surrealists, in which each player contributed in part to the drawing of a body. The evening will include a musical version of the game featuring the Oxford Improvisers together with Arrowsmith and Newland.
