Here’s a new track from Traps, their first output since the single ‘I Won’t Crawl’ / ‘Stop The Machine’ that came out late last year. ‘Capricorn’ is a rollicking journey of a song, with all kinds of loud bits, quiet bits, sensitive bits and aggressive bits. The twisty aggressive bits are pretty fine, and the opening guitar hook is a good ‘un.
Traps will be interviewed on the BBC Introducing in Oxford radio show tonight (31 August), and have a couple of Oxford gigs lined up within the next few weeks. They play The Cellar on 7 September (as part of a pretty packed line-up that also includes These Are Our Demands, Swindlestock, Stem and Mark Cope) and The Jericho Taven on 27 September (more details about that one are, as they say, TBC).
Here’s the Traps website.
