Helene GrimaudAndris Nelsons continues a duo of concerts with the Philharmonia Orchestra with Brahms’ epic Second Piano Concerto. This is a symphonic powerhouse of scorching virtuosity that the composer mischievously described as ‘a set of little piano pieces’. Hélène Grimaud will no doubt bring her characteristic passion and drive to the work.

The majestic Fourth Symphony was the last of his works that Brahms saw performed. Applause broke out at the end of every movement leaving the great man with tears streaming down his face. Tonight’s performance will no doubt produce powerful emotions from the rapport between Nelsons and this acclaimed orchestra. Early booking is recommended.
